KAWASAKI VERSYS 650 BI-XENON PROJECTOR RETROFIT

In this post, i'm going to share about the KAWASAKI VERSYS 650 2013 model with bi-xenon projector retrofit work. As owner planning for a long trip all the way to north Thailand coming January, its pleasure for me to do something useful for his coming trip.

For versys 650 is not really hard to dismantle the parts to get the headlight down, First we just dismantle few parts from the bike which is windshield, headlight holding cover and side fairings, its takes about 10 mins time.

This is how's the headlight looks like after dismantle from bike. As usual, remove the protector cover and put into oven for 20mins for the next step of work.

For this headlight, i'm using PJ3(h3z) bi-xenon projector, its looks perfect fitting and there still plenty of space for the projector level adjustment.

R56 projector shroud(replica) is just perfect fit into the headlight, the shroud just make headlight looks what born to be like. After adjust the focus point of the hid hotspot is time to join the headlight cover back and get into oven agian for 20mins.

This is hows the complete headlight outlook before attach back to the bike. I'm not doing any fancy design into the light as the owner require for practical use, so i just make everything in stock just add on the projector itself. looks quite complete isn't it?

After all the wiring arrangement, and attach back the headlight on the bike.

This is hows does it looks like in complete work. it not a fancy design but looks clean and elegant.

For a touring bike like versys, cos the headlight position is pretty high, so you can easily shoot 70m++ for low beam with no glaring to incoming traffic. Its very comfortable when you ride in dark night. We are using 5000k warm white hid kit, the color wont make too contract into the dark environment, at the same time, your eye never feel tire even if you take long distance ride(compare to pure white hid, > 6000k).

BMW E87 PJ3 BI-XENON PROJECTOR WITH F30 STYLE ANGEL EYES.

E87 consider a rare BMW model in Malaysia, it's with beautiful body line in sport back design. Today i'm going to share a projector retrofit work experience on this car.

As usual, most of the BMW car's model apply the cold seal on the headlight. So it takes me pretty much of time to dismantle the headlight cover, approximately 4 hours. As picture show, this is how it look after dismantle headlight cover. At the same time, many design idea keep coming into my head, and i have to choose the best design and color combination into it.

Due to the current BMW headlight design, I'm going to make the headlight combine with 2 tone color. I remain the grey cover frame and spray the inner part to black include the indicator light's reflector. I smoked the indicator light's reflector is to make the half transparent cover looks not so "old school". And i did the same thing into the cover frame around the main light's reflector bowl.

And so on, Now i'm consider other thing is how to make the F30 style LED angel eyes looks more fierce in this headlight. I decided to smoke the whole main beam reflector into black together with the projector shroud, The only thing i didn't smoked is the high beam reflector bowl, is to remain the function.




















After fitted on the PJ3 projector with the painted shroud, now is the time to try the F30 style LED angel eyes fitment. It's looks quite cool and this is exactly what m'i expect. From the picture we can see the overall look make the  grey frame with the LED ring more outstanding. Fitted back the half transparent indicator light's cover looks even nicer thou! i just love the combination, not too fancy but nice. ;D

This is the closer view of the F30 style LED ring, with the 1.5cm thickness acrylic and the blur surface its make the light output show smoother.

After the headlight retrofit i did changed the sealant into soft type, which we can easily dismantle in the future.  This is how the complete work looks like. ALL-NEW MAZDA 6 WITH 2.8" PJ5 BI-XENON PROJECTOR + LIGHT BAR

All-New Mazda 6, This is 2.0cc version which comes with H11 halogen projector, as car owner own a Mazda 3 2.0cc version before his new m6, which comes with bi-xenon projector lens that he used to it. Of cause the Halogen projector cannot fulfill him anymore. He is looking for something similar and powerful output projector kit. As he's our blog's follower, and decide to give us a chance to work it out. =D

I fitted the PJ5 H7/D2S projector lens to replaced the stock projector, New Mazda 6 doesn't easy to dismantle the front headlamp cover as it's run with "cold/hard seal", We spend almost 4 hours just to dismantle the cover by using special tools with very low damage.

Car own required to do something similar with 2.5cc version DRL, so i suggest to go for dual function LED Light Bar (chinese kit) and 4 pcs of Side Marker Light to replace the dim/parking light function. The Side Marker Light super bright isn't? It's 1.5w 14v smd.

The Led Light Bar is really outstanding during night time, and I apply 55w high power hid kit run with the PJ5 projector lens. The light output hit as high as 104800cd, extremely strong light output without glaring to incoming traffic.

PJ5 projector setup is so much powerful to compare to Mazda 6 2.5cc Bi-xenon kit. Mazda 6 2.5cc highest spec bi-xenon projector with 35w HID system, and our setup on this light to make the it run with stock high beam reflector + 55w Bi-xenon projector kit. It's serve in better lighting performance/coverage, no matter low beam or high beam.

As above picture show that the low and high beam light output, From the upper picture we can see the light get though at least 8 columns+, it's about 8 meters between each column, Its equal to about 64meters ++ on low beam! and the lower picture is to show the high beam light output, from the car distance to the end of the wall's distance at least 100meters++ and end of the wall is full coverage of light you can see the picture clearly. PJ5 serve impressing lighting coverage, don't you agree? =D

KAWASAKI Z800 PROJECTOR RETROFIT

KAWASAKI had the largest big bike market in malaysia, Z800 is the hottest selling bike in kawasaki since end of 2012, its over 6000 units in malaysia market right now. This is one of our demo bike, We do try the lighting performance at night with a dark street since we got the bike, If your z800 owner, you will be feel the same way which is the speed over 110-120km/h and during dark road/street without any street light, it's totally not enough to cover the further view(which is over 40meters), It's not confidence for most rider to ride by cant see through the further view by slightly high speed.

Z800 body shape is attractive even though its on a 800cc bike, cos of the lamp limited lamp space, Im using 2.2" pj4 h1 bi-xenon projector lens + 40w H.I.D to apply into the lamp.

Decoration part, im just add in a blue CCFL into the projector and white CCFL surrounding the shroud. After fit the projector into the headlamp, surprisingly the projector looks bigger than what i expect. Fitting and spacing management pretty well with 2.2" projector.

As picture shown is the light output and brightness of the Pj4 projector, for the light shooting distance you can adjust with what you like. Low beam performance on freeway/ highway can shoot 60meters++ and high beam 100meters++, and wider view coverage for 3 lanes. NISSAN LATIO/TIIDA PJ3 BI-XENON PROJECTOR RETROFIT WITH LIGHT BAR

Nissan Latio Impul, some other country call it Nissan Tiida. Car owner just get it from used car dealer, and he find out the headlamp such a boring design (as he told haha). And he complain the stock H4 headlight output cant be fulfill him. So he decide to do something solve it.

As car owner mention, his main purpose to retrofit the light is to improve the light output, and design or decoration stuff at 2nd place. So usual Im using the Pj3 Bixenon projector for the retrofit work and match with the half-transparent shroud (benz c-class design). For the darken part, i use 600'c high temp spray paint apply on it but not all, i keep certain part of silver lining to make it not too dark.

From the picture we can see the effect through the transparent shroud. I apply the white CCFL surrounding the transparent part, and purple CCFL inside the projector lens. It's looks cool isn't? About the light bar, i just make it follow the edge of the reflector. The darken reflector makes the projector looks more outstanding. 

This is complete work after install back to the car. If you don't like fancy decoration lighting, We can make the projector without CCFL or Light Bar. As picture shown, it's very sporty looks but not too fancy.

FORD RANGER BI-XENON PROJECTOR WITH DRL

Ford Ranger T6 the Truck of the year, the all-new model of ford ranger design is totally different compare the previous model. The body is huge, i feel excited that the 1st client looking for me to discussion about design of his T6. T6 headlamp design enough for me to play any design around.

Ford Ranger T5 the headlamp looks bigger than T6, but the space for custom work T6 will get more benefit into inner spacing, Both T5 & T6 can be fit in the biggest PJ series projector which is 2.8". Light output performance wise almost the same for both.

PJ3 Bi-xenon projector is produce by LightMaster Taiwan (haocheng international), we use it since 2010/2011, its the most reliable production for us. Its also the Hottest item that we sell compare all projector we have, i will be showing how's the light output performance later.

For the design wise, I apply Angel Eyes with few Day Running Light into the headlamp. The drl we are using 14v 1.5w led, but honestly i really adore the drl to match with the T6 headlamp this way, simple and clean.

If you prefer something Cool and Rock, this design may fulfill you, which is darken up the entire light (inner part) or add some color into the projector lens (inner ccfl ring/ demon eyes), its looks just like a monster.

Refer to the upper picture for the light output performance, i do compare the 40w and 55w hid system. 40w hid kit can hit as high as 73300cd and 55w hit 104800cd, which is about 45-46% high higher than 40w hid kit. For low beam distance for 4x4 truck(high level) can shoot minimum 65 to 70 meters, and high beam can shoot 150 meters easily.

KAWASAKI Z1000SX PROJECTOR RETROFIT WITH CCFL

Kawasaki had largest Super bike market in Malaysia and surrounding country, and most of you shouldn't unfamiliar with Z1000( 2009-2012). Kawasaki Z1000-sx is the same model with Z1000 but with fairing design.

The z1000-sx headlight space is long and narrow, the only projector size we can fit in is 2.2" PJ3 Bi-xenon projector. About the new shroud design we make it very similar to MINI COOPER style (r53-r56).

As bike owner require to smoked the entire headlamp to matte black with high.temp 600'c spray paint, he decided to fit the Red ccfl inside the projector(demon eye) and White ccfl ring surrounding the shroud's transparent part. It's looks pretty cool.

After the paint job and fit the projector, i attached the reflector back to the headlamp base and to do the leveling adjustment. Any how i feel it's look like an OWL before i join the front cover! =D

For owner special requirement about to design a side market into the signal casing, to make more attention at night on high way.  So that i apply fiber optic as double "C" design into the signal casing with 1.5w 14v led.

After join it back the cover through oven, all the headlamp parts is complete. It's time for wiring arrangement work and headlight installation.

This is how's the fiber optic side marker looks like, and it's real bright!
